Limited orthodontic treatment

If a patient's bite is in a good position, and they only need some minor adjustments to give them their perfect smile (like spacing, crowding, minor misalignment, slight overbite), then limited orthodontic treatment may be a good choice.

If you have had previous orthodontic treatment, but have had some shifting or relapse, then you may be a candidate for a limited treatment to get your teeth back to where you want them to be.

Limited treatment usually involves a short time in either braces, Invisalign, or some modified retainers. It can be used to treat minor problems in a single arch (upper OR lower).

Limited treatment can also be used to prepare teeth for restorative work, like crowns, bridges, implants, etc. Partial braces, Invisalign, or a modifying appliance (like a retainer with springs, for example) can all be used in a limited treatment.

Limited treatments usually only last 6-12 months on average.
